Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone |
It became known about the new film “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”, which became the very first in a series of films about the adventures of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley.
Chris Columbus, who directed the first part of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, gave a new interview in which he said that he would like to see a new Harry Potter film released. Columbus was asked by The Wrap what he thought about a three-hour version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone being released, to which the director responded positively. “I would like that too. We have to bring Peeves back, who was cut from the movie! ”Said Chris Columbus. It’s worth noting that Peeves is a Hogwarts ghost that mostly only book fans know about.
Peeves in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone was played by actor Rik Mayall. The scenes with him were filmed, but were not included in any version of the film. It is noted that the original version of the film “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” lasted almost 3 hours, namely 172 minutes. However, during the test screenings, which were organized for children and their parents, the latter did not like the too long timing. Therefore, the painting “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” was decided to be reduced to 152 minutes. A ghost named Peeves turned out to be one of those who fell under the cutter’s scissors and was cut from the theatrical version of the picture.
The film “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” was released in 2001. The main roles are played by Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. They played Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, respectively.
