CD Projekt RED is preparing something for the near future – Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 will receive their own versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X / S in early 2023, while future updates and expansions for the former are also in the works. However, next year the Polish studio will also begin work on its next major projects.

In an interview with the Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita, President Adam Kicinski was asked if CD Projekt has any plans to develop any IP other than Cyberpunk and The Witcher. He said the two franchises have a lot of potential. The studio, as such, is still focusing only on these two ICs and will begin developing high-budget AAA games in 2023.

“We are currently focused on two of our franchises,” said Kicinski. “Both have tremendous potential, so one of our strategic goals is to start working on AAA projects in parallel within our IP, which is expected to happen next year.”

Meanwhile, CD Projekt recently also acquired The Molasses Flood, developer of The Flame in the Flood and Drake Hollow. The team is said to be working on an “ambitious” new project based on either Cyberpunk or The Witcher.
