Adam Kichinski shared information on the future of two of CD Projekt RED’s biggest games – The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077

The CDP President announced that patch 1.5, the game’s next major update, will only appear in Cyberpunk 2077 in first quarter of 2023 of the year (at the same time, the game will also touch next generation devices). In addition, it became known a little about the fate of The Witcher 3, which will be available on the new Xbox and PlayStation only in the second quarter of next year.

In an interview with Rzeczpospolita, Adam Kicinski was asked about the decision to postpone the release of Cyberpunk on the aforementioned devices. According to him, it was not an easy decision:

“The decision to postpone the next generation version of Cyberpunk was difficult, but we are convinced that it was the right one, especially as it was clearly recommended by our development team. We need more time to improve the visuals and game performance so that the quality is as high as possible throughout the game. ”

The same goes for optimizing The Witcher 3 for Xbox Series X consoles | S and PS5. It takes more time to get to work than the company would like, Kichinski said. The technological leap that has taken place since the game was released in 2015 has also left its mark.

Kichinski was also asked what lessons the company learned from last year’s launch of Cyberpunk 2077. According to the CEO, it was the most difficult project ever to get CD Projekt RED to work with its imperfections. This is why the CEO of the company believes that Cyberpunk 2077 will be perceived as a good product in the future.
