The plans of Russian schoolchildren for building a career are described in the results of a study conducted by VK. It was attended by 2 thousand schoolchildren from all over Russia

According to the survey, a third of students in grades 6 through 9 want to connect their future with the development of video games. Many of them are confident that this direction will be in demand in the future and generate income. However, it is precisely with a high salary that far fewer schoolchildren compare their prospects than, for example, with the opportunity to turn work into a hobby or create projects for a multi-million audience.

However, there are many circumstances that students see as barriers to their career in the game development industry. The main barrier is parents, who, according to 21% of survey participants, will not approve of the choice of their children. The schoolchildren also noted that they do not understand where to study in order to get a base for building a career in game development.

15% of schoolchildren are already learning to create games in their free time. About a third are ready to start working in the gaming industry immediately after leaving school, while the overwhelming majority – 56% – want to build a career in Russia.
