How To Reboot & Revive Teammates Faster

Reboot Vans and revives underwent some changes in Fortnite’s latest season.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 arrived yesterday after much anticipation within the community. Epic Games introduced new mechanics, such as sliding, that will alter the way players approach the game. However, some things haven’t changed. Two core mechanics – rebooting and reviving teammates – remain as crucial in Fortnite as ever before.

However, while rebooting and reviving have been around since Chapter 1, Epic has changed these two core mechanics slightly in Chapter 3. Today, we’ll look at what is different about rebooting and reviving in Chapter 3 and show you how to optimize them in -game.

Reboot Van in Chapter 3: What’s the Same & New?

The Reboot Van remains the same in Chapter 3 from an aesthetic perspective. Epic Games also continued a trend established in Chapter 2 Season 8, and included more Reboot Vans on the map. Also, like Season 8, Reboot Cards still take 260 seconds to expire. Some additional aspects went unchanged through the Chapter 3 update, but a few differences are worth understanding.

For one, the time to reboot a teammate is much longer. However, if you’re playing Trios or Squads, multiple teammates can assist and complete the process quicker. To expedite the reboot, all living players must hold the proper action key while next to the Reboot Van.

Another new Reboot Van feature in Chapter 3 occurs after the reboot finishes. Instead of players spawning back into the game standing on the Reboot Van, they drop in from a Rift above the vehicle. This change allows players to glide toward any loot in the area.

Teammate Revive Alterations

You can now stack revives to make it go faster. from FortniteCompetitive

Like Reboot Vans, the stacking feature also applies to reviving teammates, as you can see in the clip above from Reddit user CasperElshao. In Trios and Squads, up to two or three players, respectively, can revive one downed teammate. An ordinary resurrection takes ten seconds but having multiple teammates join in narrows that time down significantly.

These two Reboot Van and revive adjustments might not be crucial but could benefit those who play Trios or Squads. So, be sure to keep this information in mind the next time you need to bring a teammate back to the Island.
