It became known that the villain Xu Wenwu from the new film “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” from the company Marvel decided to revive in the new “Avengers”.
Xu Wenwu’s character, portrayed by Tony Leung in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, may return in future MCU films, including the new Avengers. According to Gamebomb.ru, this was reported by journalist Jeff Yang, who advised the authors of “Shang-chi” on cultural issues. During a recent podcast, the journalist revealed that Xu Wenwu’s character could appear in “other places in the Marvel Cinematic Universe,” that is, in other films, and possibly TV series.
Given how Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings ended, it’s hard to imagine how Wenwu could return in Shang-Chi 2 or other Marvel films like Avengers 5 or beyond. However, many MCU fans liked Tony Leung’s game and his character very much, and therefore, perhaps the authors will figure out how to return Shang-chi’s father in the future. For example, the multiverse can come to the rescue, which is covered in more detail in the films “Spider-Man 3: No Way Home” and “Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness.” Tony Leung’s character may just come from another universe, however, how exactly Venwu’s return to the MCU will take place is not yet known.
As noted by Gamebomb.ru, the film “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” was released on September 2, 2023. The next Marvel movie will be The Eternals, which is slated for release on November 4, 2023.
