Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has long been considered one of the most toxic communities in all games. This is still a fact, but other games have officially caught up with CS: GO in this respect. Users of https://csgobettingz.com/ru/ are watching all the changes related to CSGO.
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has published its third annual online gaming toxicity report. The study, which has been running since 2019, tracks players encountering negative behaviors during games and documents which games they participated in and which toxic behaviors they encountered. This serves as an indicator of how toxic the games are compared to the competition, and gives some indication of what publishers are allowing for their games.
CSGO has traditionally been the contender for the most toxic fandom. In fact, CSGO hasn’t gotten better on this score, however, other games have gotten worse to the point that CSGO toxicity is not as bad as some others.
According to ADL research, 74% of CSGO players have experienced abuse while playing. In fact, this is slightly less than in 2023, when 75% of players were abused. With a mark of 74%, CSGO is ranked fourth among those surveyed. Call of Duty is on par with CSGO, while Valorant, Dota 2 and Overwatch are in the top three.
Despite this progress, anyone who believes the toxicity level in CSGO is falling or not so bad in the long run should think again. 33% of study participants who played CSGO said they changed their behavior in the game or stopped playing due to the toxicity of the game. It is the third largest in this category after Call of Duty and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
Along with this, the number of people reporting “meaningful positive social experiences” in the game dropped from 96% in 2023 to 90% in 2023.
Why is CSGO so toxic?
The toxicity of CSGO is due to a number of different factors, all of which stem from Valve’s lack of moderation.
Valve has done very little to control the community of any of its games, which has made toxicity and abusive behavior pretty normal across all of its games, as well as on Steam in general. Dota 2 and Counter-Strike have consistently ranked among the most toxic gaming fandoms in the world.
CSGO is notable for the fact that over the past 12 months there have been major changes in the game’s player base. Valve has put ranked matches, item drops, and many more features on a paywall after nearly three years of free play. This has become one of the main factors behind the decline in the gaming base during 2023.
