The scriptwriters of Halloween Ends, which is slated for release in October 2023, rewrote the script so that much-loved Kyle Richards can again play the role of Lindsay Wallace.
As reported by Variety, Richards has signed a return to the horror franchise to star in the final chapter of filmmaker David Gordon Green’s trilogy.
When my character didn’t die, I was like, “Oh, hello!” – shared emotions Richards, whose Lindsey survived after a horrifying meeting with Michael Myers – the main villain of the franchise, in the recently released movie “Halloween Kills”.
After Richards won the hearts of fans with her Halloween Kills, the series relaunching team reportedly rewrote the Halloween Ends script to include her character in the final installment of the trilogy and expand the heroine’s storyline. Producer Jason Blum said, “We’re thrilled to have Kyle return to his role in Halloween Ends. The return of the iconic characters to Halloween Kills has been a huge deal for director David Gordon Green. He did his best to bring back all the original actors to the screens. “
Richards first portrayed Lindsay Wallace, the baby girl Lori Strode played by Jamie Lee Curtis, in the 1978 original Halloween movie. In Halloween Kills, the former co-stars haven’t crossed paths, but Richards hopes they’ll reunite in the upcoming installment. “In the last movie I saw Jamie on set, but we didn’t have a shoot together,” she explained. “So I really hope we have more scenes together. I cannot talk about any plot events, I can only say that we start shooting in January and I am very happy to return to the project with Jamie Lee Curtis and David Gordon Green. “
The 2018 Halloween reboot was a huge box office success, grossing $ 255 million worldwide on a $ 10 million budget. This year’s Halloween Kills was a bit more modest and made $ 131 million worldwide, but is still considered a successful pandemic-era movie and is one of the highest-grossing horror films this year.
Halloween Ends is due out on October 13, 2023.
