In early November, the largest video hosting YouTube literally shocked users with its innovation. The display of the number of dislikes was completely hidden from the service, leaving just the ability to put “dislike” under the video. As it turned out, YouTube, before removing the counter, directly negotiated with the leading content authors, but completely ignored their criticism.
About it told Linus Sebastian, one of the founders of the Linus Linus Media Group and the popular techno channel Linus Tech Tips. The blogger did not go into details, apparently bound by a signed nondisclosure contract, briefly explaining “It didn’t work out.”
The number of dislikes can now be seen only by the creators of the video. The innovation was criticized both by the community and by other bloggers who did not see a great need for it.
