Formerly one of the two main persons Cricket 22 was cricketer cricketer athlete Tim Payne (Tim Paine), Australia cricket team captain in The Ashes. But recently he got into a scandal: a story surfaced about how he sent a female colleague photographs of his leather bat.
According to Kotaku, the incident itself happened somewhere between 2017 and 2018. The woman did not like it, and she filed a complaint. Local cricket cricket sports organizations conducted their own investigation and concluded that Payne and the unnamed woman exchanged spicy messages by mutual agreement, so no punishment is required.
The event seemed to have passed relatively calmly, but before the start of The Ashes 2023 it still received wide publicity. This is where the problems began for Cricket 22… Payne was on the cover and was slated for a November 25 release. But due to the situation with Payne an urgent decision was made to change materials.
A replacement was found quickly: on November 22, the developers announced about the postponement, and already on November 23 showed put the new cover back in place Payne placed Pat Cummins (Pat Cummins), Vice Captain of Team Australia. The materials had to be changed not only on the discs, but also inside the game – for this they prepared a special patch of the first day. As developers from Big ant studios, this is the first transfer for the entire existence of the studio – and that, as you can see, happened due to a crazy dikpik from somewhere outside.
Formally, users play Cricket 22 for a month already – on October 23, it started in early access mode.
