The first trailer has been released for Nightmare Alley, his first film Guillermo del Toro 4 years after winning the 2017 Oscar for Best Picture with The Shape of Water, as well as the award for best director. Nighmare Alley stars Bradley Cooper as Stanton “Stan” Carlisle and Cate Blanchett as psychiatrist Dr. Lillith Ritter.
In addition to Cooper and Blanchett, Nightmare Alley has a remarkable cast that includes Toni Collette, Willem Dafoe, Richard Jenkins, Rooney Mara, Ron Perlman, David Strathairn, Clifton Collins Jr., Tim Blake Nelson and Mary Steenburgen.
The film is based on the 1946 novel Nighmare Alley by William Lindsay Gresham, and unlike many other films directed by Guillermo del Toro, Nighmare Alley will not feature any supernatural elements. Nightmare Alley will hit theaters on December 17, 2023.
